Are intrerset paid from a margin account deductible?

I have a margin account and paid some interest last year after buying some shares from this account (on marge). Marge has been covered since.

Some say we cannot deduct on our income tax form the interest paid from shares bought from a margin account and some say yes???

If we can deduct these interest, where (what line and what form) do we entern the amount to be deducted. I have been reading that this is deductible because it is considered as interest paid from an investment?
