10/27/2008 3:17:48 PM - Market Wire

TORONTO, ONTARIO, Oct 27, 2008 (Marketwire via COMTEX News Network) --

Southampton Ventures Inc. (TSX VENTURE:SV) ("Southampton") is pleased to announce the commencement of a 600 metre drill program to test two high priority VTEM geophysical targets on the Moonbeam Property, a Southampton - Noront Resources (TSX VENTURE:NOT) Joint Venture Option on 12 claim blocks (6720 acres) to explore and develop the mineral-rich property in the McFauld's Lake 'Ring of Fire,' 25 kilometres Northeast of the Eagle One Discovery.

Exploration at the Moonbeam property is focused on locating magmatic Ni-Cu-PGE and other Volcanogenic Massive Sulphide, (VMS) base metal occurrences. In preparation for the drill program and the targets chosen, ground geophysics and an airborne survey were conducted and reviewed by both management teams.

"We are extremely encouraged by our geophysical data and we look forward to launching this drill program on the high priority targets, located on the south-east part of the property" said Paul Gorman, President and CEO. "We also have linear conductors, associated with aeromagnetic highs on the north end of the property that we will begin to collect information on that will be analyzed."
