Old Joe, good afternoon, please let me weigh in here, "if" indeed we have added 2 more drills to the field, then the "new" Drilling Operator from Orbit really is not really new, these guys would be in addition to the teams we have already at the throttles of the drills currently working, i'am sure the new teams will be the "cream of the crop" so to speak from Orbit Driling. When i spoke to guy at orbit last year when Johnny and June were under construction they seemed very very excited about being onboard with NOT for our ROF drilling program. I also believe that we have 1 crew from Cabo on a drill if memory serves me correct. I beleive all the camp/construction logistics are being administered by Billiken, not seen a change there.
"Drilling results in this press release have been approved for dissemination by Noront's senior management including John Harvey, P.Eng. Chief Operating Officer of Noront, Dr. Jim Mungall P.Geo., Noront's Chief Geologist, and Jim Atkinson, P.Geo. all being Qualified Persons under Canadian Securities guidelines."
The above listed individuals are IMO driving the program, sure the BODs got pull but really the guys above are the frontmen of the show. The BOD, if its smart, will let these guys have full run of the NOT house. Its in the best interest of the company. Every core thats pulled adds another piece to the ROF jigsaw puzzle, sooner or later the boys above will start to see the big picture and know where to put the next piece of the puzzle, when this happens things will move so fast it will make our heads spin, drill-confirmed hit, drill-confirmed hit, etc, etc.
As for NOT direction i think the following lays it out, change of direction can occur in most drilling programs, whats happening here is the trunk of the NOT tree has split into two disticnt brances each with its own type of fruit and both very worth while going after.....
From the latest news release.... telling forcast direction in regards to the Blackbirds, we know the program ongoing at Eagle One/level two.
"In light of a review of the mining and beneficiation practises of major chromite producers elsewhere in the world, Noront has initiated a major re-sampling program on existing core aimed at the delineation of a large deposit amenable to open pit methods of exploitation. In addition, representative samples have been selected from various drill intersections and have been submitted to SGS Lakefield for initial metallurgical studies."
"This zone along the Ring of Fire ("ROF") continues to the northeast onto ground wholly owned by Noront. The Company is committed to further identifying the chromite footprint of the Blackbird deposits and testing its other holdings along the ROF for chromite and related copper-nickel massive sulphide mineralization. Noront raised $18.9 million in a flow through financing during November and December, a portion of which has been assigned to Noront's activities in the Ring of Fire related to chrome exploration. (see press release dated December 4, 2008)."
"We are extremely excited about the thickness and world-class grades that we are encountering in our Blackbird drilling," said Paul Parisotto, Interim Co-CEO of Noront. "The Blackbird discoveries are starting to show continuity as we move towards defining a resource base for these unique deposits. Further drilling, in conjunction with metallurgical studies that should be completed in the first quarter, may allow Noront to be in a position to communicate the significance of these deposits to the markets before the middle of the year."
This is all very encouraging, but i ask this of the BOD:
Agoracom if you would be so kind as to pass this along to the BOD
Please confirm whether or not we have 2 new drills and crews in addition to the 4 drills and crews currently operational.
Best regards Joe.
