I will tell you about the turnaround time though I believe a poster has already covered this issue.

From what I understand the core is split, it is then cut into sections of 1foot to 1 meter. I forget exactly. This is put into bags. It then must be shipped to Actlabs in Thunder Bay for example. This could take several days so lets go long and say a week.

Actlabs will crush and test the samples which takes 5 weeks or so. They will then send the data back to the company.

One person will get the drills positions etc. ready fro the NR. This takes from a few days to a week. While one guy is preparing the technicals a Geo will prepare the N.R. The Nr could take up to a week.

Then the NR must be approved then we get it.

FWR can do this in aprox 8 weeks.

Why it takes NOT so long? You don't want to know and I'm not posting it.

I will say this. A play can hold the releases for some time unless they are very good. If they ae very good it is extremely difficult to keep a lid on things so leaks happen.

The sp will begin to float up on rumor and believe me the O.S.C. is watching. Especially Noront IMHO.

If the OHC sees an sp float up they will phone the company or get in touch with them somehow and ask WTF is going on. Your sp is rising on no new??? This will force the play to release the NR.

So we have a few scenarios. NO news or Hold the news for whatever reason.

If we are not getting news it s because there is none or its being held. In order to hide the fact that there is news, someone may hold down the sp so as not to alert the OSC.

This is just off the top of my head. I'm sure there are others on the forum who could add to this but I believe I've got it pretty well figured.
