THERMOPYLAE deja vu.....all over again

Hello friends.....I have so little time these days, as I am on the highway and/or driving. I gave up some valuable sleep hours to catch-up on Agoracom....well worth the read....and a BIG thanks to all of you that have expressed their thoughts and feelings.

I'm getting that warm fuzzy feeling of family that reared it's protective head the last time our BOD (Bloody old dementeds) decided that they were superior to others.

I'm the kind of guy that loves rocks(I'm not a geologist, but have done some prospecting)...I'm not a stock and market person, but have stocks and am trying to teach my son a little of that...I work for every inch in life as I know you folks do. We don't take and steal and manipulate to get what someone else has. We WANT a fair and level playing field, then it's 'game on'.

Now our BOD, is a different animal. Just look at the news these days....the archetype of Madoff comes to mind.....these are slick, manipulative, oh so greedy, unethical....and as we all knew....quite often criminal(the Madoffs of this world). They believe without doubt that others are inferior and they do not express empathy at all. Madoff will possibly be declared 'sociopathic'....which may lessen the 'criminal' consequences...lol....sort of.

These are the classic people behind mirrored glass in their office towers...the 'wanna be' power brokers who will stop at nothing.....I watched 'Wall Street' again a couple of weeks ago, and Gordon Gecko is still creating havok in his world. "Greed is good" is the classic line that entered our culture. And there is the NUB my friends....the CULTURE of money & financing in this world....at the expense of everything else...be it lives, budgets, common sense or even Mother earth herself.

So here I am.....I'm going to try and change the world just a little(and do it in my spare time apparently...lol).

I am NOT money driven person, I am ethically and morally driven. Yes, I am here to make money, I go to work in the film industry to make money, and I try to make money in the market. But I will NOT and do NOT compromise my ethics to make money(we all can blur the edges a bit at times). I do not destroy peoples lives and savings to make a living. We may be seeing a paradigm shift as politicians and the courts are a little more willing to go after these criminals.

I ultimately don't care about my investment in NOT. We learn every day from friends here about accidents and sickness that affects their families....and our hearts go out to them. I really hope that our NOT will make us a whack of money, but it's not the biggest thing in my world. I am far more likely to stand up and have something to say about unfairness, bullying, cheating, manipulation, criminal behaviour...etc...etc.

For me, life IS about people.....it's family, friends, colleagues, partners, kids and all those people I haven't met yet.....it's a universal feeling. This is why I stand up when injustice clouds our horizon....I just can't help it....must be the way I was brought up. That's what I see happening here.....it's NOT all about money. It's about right and wrong. This is my discussion with my son also.

THERMOPYLAE deja vu.....all over again.

Our friend George T knows about Thermopylae I'm sure. The 300 Greeks(and 700 Thespians) fought over 1 million Persians. A more UN-equal battle was never seen. My point here is NOT that we are unequal against out BOD(it's actually numerically close) but the bigger financial world. THAT is the battle. Our future dust-up with the BOD is just a warm-up.

Just as the Spartans were defending a Pass in the mountains, we will be defending Right from Wrong. The Greeks did eventually lose that battle(causing enormous losses to the Persians), but we remember them today for their heroism in defending their country.

....oh yeah.....we also remember them for one other little thing.....Democracy.

.....gird your loins...........cheers....sambone
