George, In response to your inquiry for suggested "Drop Dead" dates, as I understand it, these are dates by which, if the expected action by the Directors is not forthcoming, we agree to work together to put into motion whatever is necessary to change the situation.
My suggestion for a Drop Dead date for Assay Results is May 15, 2009. The reason why I consider it vital to the share-price and health of the company is because of what happens every May. The old saying that is followed by many investors is: "Sell in May, and go away." The evidence of the large following who believe and follow this advice is the traditional summer slump in stock prices.
Consequently, if a company has not demonstrated its value and superlative investment nature (e.g., blue-sky potential) by late spring, their stock price falls even further than it would have otherwise during the summer. So, it is crucial that, before the big sell off of stocks during May, that Noront have some assay results showing that a lot of work was, in fact, being done, and that progressive delineation of a mineral body is, in fact, being accomplished.
Assay results are already long overdue, so I think I'm showing quite a bit of patience in setting a drop dead date at the middle of May. But if the directors have not provided assay results by that time, then I believe it is time to consider that something fishy is going on, and we need some people who will be more accountable.
