It appears that open pit is essential in order to meet the price competition. This means we have to be open pit and we have to take advantage of every other price advantage in order to make sales. Shipping to the North American markets will be key and this is where governments involvement in road building is essential. Electricity costs and availability are also key. From the article, it appears that producing ferrochrome is not that complicated so if we get our cost structure competitive, we are in business. The main question is who is going to take the plunge and develope this North American resource? Hope they are in their board rooms working out their strategies.
