I have had a lot of them lately...little germs of ideas that haven't taken root and bloomed yet. Maybe they lack a little fertilizer? LOL
The recent discussion, and particularly the conversation-sparking one of Sum's reminded me of one that may or not have any bearing on the current thread. Just who is it that is vying for the big prize, and are they just waking up to the possibilities within the RoF, or have they been there all along, and silently representing the interests of themselves, or a yet-unnamed party?
I've always puzzled over the significance of the BMK gang, and the presence of the Big Four there. Things even seemed a little cozy at first between Noront and BMK when the RoF discovery lit up the stock charts. Then, abruptly, it seemed things cooled off in that department and both sides began keeping their distance. Of course, when all that was available in the beginning was the gravity maps and the big pink blobs were all we had to go by, it did seem at that time that BMK had snapped up an awful lot of that pink real estate.
They all ponied up 10 million smackeroos, and it seemed everyone, myself included, thought to themselves "Follow the big money". Well, the big money just parked itself, and then after some dismal drill results, it seems they just stopped trying. They didn't sell their stock, but just nothing happened. Then recently, it seemed they even wanted to "telegraph" their complete disinterest in the RoF by announcing their new project, ( remind me, was it in Sask. or Manitoba?) but at the same time, trying to promote it by saying it shared similarities with the RoF.
What would make them think they could hit paydirt there, if not at McFaulds?
I think it's possible this was part of their well-thought out plan. I mean, who else BUT the very rich could consider parking their millions, the SP faltering well below their entry, unless they KNEW the whole area was going to be proven up by the drilling efforts of others. And considering they also were major shareholders at the time of the proxy battle, they no doubt have an interest in the success of Noront as well.
Keeping in mind the global economic meltdown, the collapse of banks, and the Asset Backed Commercial Paper fiasco that gutted many a Canadian company/and or investor, the RoF definitely seems like a safe place in hindsight, doesn't it?
I'm just wondering how much smoke these guys have contributed to the smokescreen...thoughts anyone?
I'll leave you with a quote that seems to apply just as seamlessly to the RoF as it does the poker table, given our history with RN and Irwin etc...
