Berta;went aboard the Maggie during the 56 Suez crisis but only stayed aboard in Halifax when Farouk decided he did not like the fact the Queen's own Rifles were to be the Canadian Peacekeeping Brigade, and they could not send them. I was then transfered to the Crusader and spent the Winter in the Caribbean. Spent one Summer aboard the naval Icebreaker Labrador (1957) in the Artic and went to a minesweeper, the Thunder and finished up on another Tribal Destroyer, the Haida and switchedd over to the RCAF and spent time in Summerside and 3 years in Whitehorse monitoring

radio transmissions from guess where? ( it was the Cold War). After 10 years, I got a real job.

Great time reminiscing! Take care .rj
