Hi N Dubz
You asked..."Assuming we can weather this terrible economic mess do you think NOT has the potential to reach its former $6+ days?"
OK, I'll bite here, (assumming you are legit), here are my thoughts on NOT these days: (FWIW...I am long NOT and have been for awhile.)
I do think NOT can weather this economic mess. As per the recent luncheon, they have enough money in the bank to last another 18 months. We are currently waiting for some drill results, which could be awhile still. There is on going drilling, with chatter about some Ni. But I'll believe the Ni when I see it, and not a minute before. At this point the ROF needs Ni, plain and simple.
I'm encouraged by the drilling hit and miss ratio. As time goes on the geo's are learning more and more about this area. What I do find frustrating is that if the hit/miss ratio is getting better, why aren't they finding Ni? I can't believe there isn't any more out there, which is why I think most people are hanging around here. This is why some majors are sniffing around...although the majors aren't about to pile money into something that isn't there yet. Especially in these markets. But one sniff of Ni results like Eagle 1 and I truely believe this thing will fly past your $6. (obviously the economic conditions and price of Ni will also play a roll in the share price) We need economies of scale...8-10 million tons of Ni has been thrown around (the extra metals also help to make it feasible).
As someone once posted: 5 DE's will send this play well into the double digit share price range. Hell, I'll take 2 DE's at this point.
We also have to hope the BOD have "everyone's" best interest at heart. (that's another story I won't get into to)
I know I sound slightly negative right now, I've just watched too much 'crap' fly around in the past.
Going forward, I do believe ROF has great potential, and I will be sticking around during this ride. In summary, #1 I believe there can't be just 3 million tons of Ni in all of the ROF, #2 Rousseau etc. don't take over a company for an appreciation to $2 a share, and #3 you don't have majors looking around and coming up with numbers as to how much capital expenditures might cost to develope the area.
This is a longer hold now obviously since DE 1, but one good Ni drill result changes everything. Sell in May and go away at one's own risk with this play.
Cheers, and happy trading.
