The seller and buyer are buddies, or at least business acquaintances. The seller doesn't want to lose a ton (as HGS just said) and the buyer doesn't want to pay more than something in the mid 60 cent range. And for that favor from the seller to the buyer, there's a "you owe me one" on the way out the door.

The seller is also my buddy and my friend's buddy and a buddy of many others here who also bought in the mid 60's. The difference here is that we don't owe him any favors.

It may not be as simple as all that, but sometimes the most obvious things are the answer.
