Hey guys and gals,
I emailed Investor Relations at Noront, and wanted to find out what was going on if anything with Windfall. For those of you that are new to Noront, or don't know, Windfall is a property in Quebec that Noront owns. They made a nice discovery of gold there a few years ago, but have put the property on care and maintenance as the Ring of Fire is the next big thing in Canada. Here is the reply I received from Noront.
Dear Sir,
Thank you for your inquiry. AT present Noront is not conducting any further exploration on Windfall and therefore it has been placed under care and maintenance. All other information regarding windfall can be found in the company's MD&A which is found on our website at www.norontresources.com As far as what other JV partners are conducting, around the site, you will have to enquire directly with them as to the status of this project.
Care and maintenance means that there is no exploration nor further work being conducted at Windfall and the project is being maintained at its current status. Although there were some intercepts of gold, the findings were inconclusive and would require a further exploration program and raising of funds of between C$6-12 million to continue exploration on a project which was inconclusive. The company has made McFauld's lake its primary exploration project which has had 5 major discoveries in the past year and a half.
Noront will decide what is to be done with Windfall at a later date, options include, JV, selling of the property, or further exploration.
Again, to gain further insight on the property and project status, I would urge you to visit the website.
Regards,
