Hoov,
That was funny..... I too see the accumulating aspect of all this and laugh at the fact I am getting shares cheaper than the insiders who subsribed to the PP at .80 cents. If they are somehow behind this low price then it has benefitted the retail guy who did not have to sell and who is averaging down while waiting out the bounce.
The low share price the last few months has been a mixed blessing. One thing it has provided is an ability to put 8000 to 10000 shares and place them into a tax free investment account in Canada in 2009. If the price stays the same in January 2010, I will be putting in another $5K worth for the tax free ride up.
While we only pay tax on 50% of a capital gain in Canada, the TSFA allows for unlimited tax free gain, though the buy-in each year is only $5K. I am sure the government is regretting this now as the program was designed before the market crash and likely intended to stimulate investment rather than tax shelter people on stock gains on stocks that were bought at historical bottoms in the first quarter of this year.
While I fear that Noront may be labelled a risky stock due to the massive drop in share price for a company that was more than a spec company, I also know that runs can happen at anytime for no reason at all. Once the spark is lit this will takeoff again. Just frustrating having to wait while the others I follow have taken their jumps in the past six weeks as money returns to the markets.
But I sleep well knowing that they have cash and excellent geos on staff. Better drilling holes around known high grade areas than praying for a first hit in Mexico or Mongolia. We have come a long way in a few short years.
