Hi Bowline,
You and Semi-smart made very good points about the rising price of nickel and how this affects the Noront deposit. Sometimes we forget about the copper and the Platinum and Palladium.,gold, Rodium etc. Have these not risen considerably? Look below to see the values per tonne from Not-07-18. Semi made the excellent point of is the chrome worth zero?
From Probe's news release today, we see the written words of ,"The discovery of chromite at McFauld's has added significantly to the area's value".
I did not read the chromite added zero to the value. This is why Semi and all of us are scratching our heads ....not getting it. Pay attention to other words in the Probe NR. "The Victory project is comprised of 452 claims totaling 7,232 hectares and covers the interpreted southeast extension of the McFauld's Lake volcanic belt. The 2008 discovery of ultramafic rocks was the first for the property, and highlights this area's potential to host nickel-copper-PGE or chromite-PGE deposits in addition to volcanogenic massive sulphides ('VMS')."
I underlined the chromite-PGE part. It's not just chromite it is PGE PGE PGE PGE. Let's not forget the PGE part. Anyone check the price of PGE's lately. Is it zero just like chromite? Once again I post the famous NOT-07-18 below. It's not just about nickel and it is not just about chromite.
December 12, 2007 Noront Resources Ltd. (“Noront”)(TSX Venture: NOT) is pleased to announce further progress of the diamond drilling and geophysical program, as well as recently received assay results on its’ 100% owned Eagle One occurrence within Noront’s Double Eagle Project in the McFaulds Lake Area of northeastern Ontario. “To date 27 holes have been completed totaling in excess of 5 kilometers of drilling. Extremely high grade intersections of Nickel, Copper, Platinum and Palladium over impressive widths continue to highly encourage management at Noront. Preliminary analytical work on selected samples for the other Platinum Group Elements (PGE’s) suggest that Rhodium is also present in the Eagle One occurrence, this could add significant value to the zone’s resource potential”
