Idle, knee-jerk reaction after your post.
Is there any compelling, self-serving reason why the BoD would be pursuing this course of action? Are they "playing possum" themselves? And if so, are they pretending to play dead because they are waiting for a perceived aggressor to move along before they show signs of life once again?
We know they are acting in their best interest, and if we are lucky, by default that will mean increased SP down the line which will benefit us, the shareholders. But don't kid yourself for a minute and think they get warm and fuzzy feelings when they think of retail. So I have to wonder how this benefits them in order to discern how it will ever benefit me.
It could be they have attracted enough attention that they are concerned about a stink-bid offer; and they themselves have gone into radio silence as if to say "Move along folks, nothing to see here, show's over" until they can discover/release some superb results, driving the price higher and out of reach of the stink bid offeree.
In the absence of real, timely, and factual information, all we have is conjecture. And in the absence of cold, hard profits being the driving force behind the actions of the BoD, I get to wondering if it's self-preservation they're scrambling over?
Remember, when not motivated/filled with a desire to achieve a higher purpose here on this plane of existence, we often resort to the animal kingdom's simple flow chart of urges: having enough to eat ( equatable to $$$ in this context), defending territory from rivals or enemies, reproduction ( continuation of the species...i.e. RoF acquistions???)and I'm sure there's a couple I've forgotten but you catch my drift.
That is why I keep wondering if this is not a reflexive, defensive mode on the part of NOT: trying to make themselves appear bigger and more threatening, like a cat with it's fur bristling, and/or laying low, playing possum until whatever perceived threat moves along to another unsuspecting victim.
Just some wild, unsubstantiated ramblings on my part.
