Oh, boy, Snezzer, you talk about someone having some brass ones! I don't think it's all that difficult for regulators to see who or what group may have sold lots of shares today - the spotlight would be on them and they could be in big trouble if it could be proven that they started a false rumor.
What I have seen happen with Canadian resource stocks, especially ones with big followings and a track record for big swings (especially upward), is that once a lot of volume and price movement get noticed, lots of day traders begin trading the stock in a frenzy. There could be guys that bought and sold 50,000 shares, 3-5 times today, in, wait, out, wait, in, etc.
If memory serves, we've had some false runs in the past, maybe 2-4 years ago, but this one sure smells real. Assuming it a rumor, and the essence of the rumor is true, then the question is at what level should the stock trade once the news is released. That is a complete guess - we could already be above that price, or very much below it.
I would suggest that people consider taking some profits, if they were wise enough to buy shares at the recent low prices. I'm not saying at what price to sell, but having a plan is a good idea, rather than making a hasty decision in the heat of battle. For example, a person might prudently decide to sell one quarter of his shares at, say, $1.65, especially if those sold will be ones purchased at a higher price, thus generating a loss, while keeping the more recently purchased "bargain" shares.
Congratulations to all longs - and especially the very loyal, hard-working longs who spend a lot of time on this board - on today's share action - extremely exciting for you guys, and a well-deserved reward. Hopefully, we'll all be rewarded with something that spends a little easier than the excitement of it all, but never forget rides like today's are one reason many play these junior resource stocks!
