If we can trust an extrapolation over feet we can certainly be pretty confident extrapolating over a few inches given the length.

while we're at it....on discussions of % and XRF analyzers here's the thing, in addition to being able to scan the exterior surface of the core We also need to remind ourselves that more often than not, all core is generally split at the core shack.

Its during this time that the samples undergo much much closer examination by the XRF's allowing examination of the core center.

As such they will pretty much know what the core holds before it loaded onto the plane.
