At the 2008 AGM the number of directors on the board was set at seven. A slate was presented and voted on by shareholders. Are you suggesting that the original number be increased to eight, or that a slate of eight be put forward for a vote? Is there someone willing to step down?

If an additional board member is added there will be additional compensation, and that is not cheap. Think of the options to which he/she would be entitled? Perhaps the person chosen would spread them around - Ha!Ha!
