LAC DORE VANADIUM DEPOSIT
Located approximately 70 kilometres south-east of Chibougamau Quebec, the Lac Dore Deposit is the most advanced Canadian Vanadium project. Apella Resources acquired the deposit by ground staking in August 2007(awaiting Quebec Government approval). The deposit was discovered in 1954 by Dominion Gulf, though the vanadium content wasn’t discovered until 1966. The deposit contains inferred mineable vanadium pentoxide resources of about 5.5 billion pounds making it the largest in North America and second largest in the world. The deposit is completely road accessible and lies close (35 km’s) to transmission lines 161 kV.
