Whew, finally cought up on the reading here.
After market closed took the time to cut the grass in the back yard.
I come back and there is a vanadium news release and a cornucopia of posts.
Boy, are you folks a lively bunch.
My impression/slant:
First of all there is no 'Silence' regarding this news. Just speaking for myself, presume similar for others, it took time to read it and digest and then all your comments.
Hoov's I like the best. Take heed of what he says.
Note I am just an electrical/electronic engineering type with only first year chemistry under my belt, it helps but not enough.
The vanadium concentration is not the best and with current vanadium prices I suspect off hand it is barely economical, if that.
One does not need to be a geologist to consider the news release. Note that it takes about $8/ton to excavate an ore. It varies a bit based on method, location such as far notrh or the price of fuel but that is the basic price I use for ball parking.
Note that the vanadium concentration is about 4Kg ( 8 lbs.) per ton.
With 2$ per pound on vanadium pentoxide you are looking at 32$. so you have 24$ left over for processing and overhead.
I better say not economical in this time frame.
Now do not get upset with me. I say current time frame. Not so long ago Ferro-vanadium was over 100$/Kg and vanadium pentoxide at 12$/kg. cureent prices are a third of that now, that is the reason.
What is impressive about this news release is the size of the resource.
So to me today, this news release is neutral. This resource will be great in some future time when prices return to more normal.
Finally today's share price action had nothing to do with this news release, imho. Like I said it did nothing for me.
As for share price tomorrow, it will probably sagg in the early minutes as it did today and pick up where it left off, again as it did later today.
Today I was hoping for a close above 2$ hence my comment - Not bad. I am content with the closing price but expected it to more closely reflect today's action.
Finally repeating myself, I do not expect 'The News Release' tomorrow morning. I suspect tomorrow will be a copy of today.
As I've said before I hope for that news on friday morning before opening or after market close.
The first would cause all kinds of hysteria during trading - Most desirable by me, hence proponing it. The second would give every one time to digest over the weekend and who knows what would happen in that case on monday.
Cheers and good luck.
