Giving out stars to NOT posters

Since yesterdays close there have been some great posts..I like to reward posters with "thumbs up" and stars...But I don't understand the workings of the system..I always watch the posters total points..Three examples...1)I gave a poster 5***** total points increased was 2...2) I gave a poster 5***** total increase was 85 points....3)I gave a poster 5***** total DECREASE was 2 points.... Has any one else noticed this??Regards...R R
