Or all the people that were interested on the basis of the impending news have been filled and the sp retrace represents the lack of new buyers. Once the sp stops advancing or starts a pull back, additional profit taking takes place with the intent to reaquire later at a lower price ( I did yesterday).
"Correction" though the phrase is used often is a misnomer, there is nothing to be corrected, it is just a normal market reaction, imho.
