"LME base metals remained rangebound over the past week, correcting lower in the past sessions after even more unprecedented gains last week as upbeat economic sentiment rather than pure demand fundamentals continues to underpin the sector," said VTB Capital in a note

."Silver... has traded lower this morning as gold comes under pressure and copper is down over 2 per cent," said TheBullionDesk.com analyst James Moore.

Platinum was at $1,218.50 an ounce against $1,228, while palladium was at $266.50 against $271.

Oil prices rebounded strongly yesterday in line with firmer equities and a weaker U.S. dollar. Crude for September delivery settled at $69.19 (U.S.) a barrel in New York, up $2.44. September natural gas fell 4.7 cents to settle at $3.115 per 1,000 cubic feet.
