Deep Drilling

I ask Joanne about this earlier but I got the 'we don't discuss drill plans' reponse so this is a *** TOTAL GUESS on my part ***.

I was asking whether we would using 'kick off' holes off of a deep pilot hole (using the yet to arrive deep drill) to test the 1C pod. That would involve drilling a deep vertical 'pilot' hole close to the 1C pod (or any other deep target) and then using directional drilling to wedge or kick off a new hole from it. This would allow you to use a common hole for the first 800 or so meters and then a series of 'kick off' holes to swiss cheese the 1C pod.

If they wanted to they could ream out a hole like 49 that passes through 1c and then drill a spiral pattern of holes starting low in hole 49 and pulling up 5 or 10 meters each time they kicked off another hole. Combined with their BHEM survey work it would allow them to drill off the deep targets more effectively and much faster.

Technically they could uses wedges with their current equipment to kick off some holes from some of the deeps holes but I don't think the equipment could handle it and you might lose the hole for later use.

Right now the rigs they are using are drilling pretty close to their limits. Add in that drilling with BQ rods at a 1000 meters is also pushing the limits of the rods. So for now it is going to be SLOW going. Each deep hole (~1000m) is probably going to take close to 3 weeks and in the bottom of the holes they are going to run into technical problems because of equipment limitations.

So until the 'deep' rig shows up on the property holes and info flow are going to be slow. We will be lucky to see 4 or 5 1000m holes per month.

Have patience and enjoy what is left of the summer.

.... Been There
