I’ve was looking at the house positions tonight at work (thank you Irish1111 they are very much appreciated) and was quite surprised. From August 17th to today (excluding August 20 which wasn’t posted) the accumulation of shares from the institutions and the reduction of shares from retail is pretty amazing. These are rough numbers only so don’t shoot me if they are slightly off by a bit. This is just to make a point of who is buying because most of the time it appears to be a shell game.
Retail:TD, RBC, Scotia, Itrade, CIBC, HSBC, BMO, Desjardins and Questrade reduced their combined holdings by 1,339,828 shares. The exception was National which increased their shares by 200,000.
Institutions: Clarus, Dundee, ITG, Wellington, Penson, Genuity, Bolder, Haywood and anonymous increased their combined holdings by 1,590,281 shares. The exception was Canaccord which decreased their shares by 210,710.
Take care all and have a good night!
