"to the shareholder’s last address as shown on the books of the company"

The above phrase is the important one in this case. The address shown is always your broker. It is then up to them to get it to you. Everyone is so quick to jump down the company's throat at every turn. I deal with 4 different brokers and it is not unusual for the paperwork to arrive in my mailbox 3 days after the date. That is the brokers fault, not the company's. Consider that every one of the administration here has far more experience with the rules than any of us ever thought they could have. They will adhere to them, else they wouldn't be there.
