Been away for just over a week. A little sun in the BAJA and visiting a daughter.
I have not caught up on every thing but with what I have been reading here is my thought.
Everyone is assuming that this is a frontal attack on FWR by NOT to take it over. No one is really sure but what happens if NOT really does not want this deal yet. What happens if NOT is really hoping the price is driven down after a failed bid and a bunch of institutional or major friendlies are waiting on the side line to pick up the majority 66-1/3 shares required to successfully make this happen? i.e. replace FWR' s BODs To be honest we just don’t know. How could this happen? Simple, wait for the end date of the offer to come and go and than give the news that every one thinks NOT’s BOD’s are holding. At first FWR would likely drop and if NOT was successful in driving up their price eventually FWR would rise as a area play but it would likely trade at a much lower ratio than 4 to 1. This would allow another offer and the likely deposing of the FWR BOD’s or at least the termination of the rights plan. I know, I know this White Knight guy is going to come and rescue FWR. Unfortunately at this stage I just don’t see the dust in the distance as he rides to the rescue of FWR.
