Mining At Depth

With all due respect, there has been some discussion vis-a-vis how expensive it would be to mine the Eagles Nest at the depths intersected to date. Granted UG mining is more expensive than open pit mining, however, the shape of the deposit would in my opinion, but I'm not a mining engineer, lend itself to "long hole stoping"........a very cost effective, and relatively low cost for UG, mining technique for ore bodies having the apparent dimensions and orientation of the Eagles Nest. Can anyone with more mining experience than myself help me out here?
