On vacay this week, but a few thoughts...
This 'Plan of Arrangement' the Freewest deal is in with Cliffs needs 66.6 percent support, no?
It's odd that Montreal Gazette and Globe and Mail reports that Cliffs has purchased FWR. It's not a done deal, and I can't imagine it getting done at that price? I wish I had a list of current shareholders.
Seems Mac is blowing his company up lest it get into the hands of NOT. Diluting at 60cents at share? What's he going to do with this money? Pay his legal bill for one. Probably pay, pay, pay his people and his trades. Why leave anything in the coffers if he might get ousted. I commend him if this is the play. Getting a bit nasty - they way some people talked about this guy I figured he wrap it in a bow and write a nice card he was such a nice and honest guy. Good to see the gloves are off and it's all getting out in the open.
I really don't think Cliffs wants this property for themselves - although all the signs point otherwise. They could be in cahoots with Mac and raising the pot. Why not? They know NOT wants it and they outbid their offer by a paltry amount? It's weird. So is the PP.
One very positive sign is that the PP is 60 cents. The fact that Cliffs is in for buying shares at 60 cents gives a VERY strong signal of how much they value this property. They probably could have bought in at half that amount a couple of months ago.
For me personally, I hope NOT is able to increase their SP and/or secure the minimum amount of shares to prevent this deal from occurring as it will tarnish NOT and the ROF for future development if we are all not consolidated properly. I feel as thought Noront has some great momentum building on so many levels of exploration - we would all win in the end if Noront gets FWR more so than Cliffs.
Enjoying the bumpy ride...
