This jumped out at me from that posting:

'The country is also the world’s biggest producer of platinum, chrome, vanadium and manganese.'

We are aware of the chromium situation due to the merger discussions but the Platinum and Vanadium stood out as an unexpected sore thumb ( note Noront's holds) .
