Message: What would a halt...

A halt does not necessarily mean for a long time. It could be for a half hour, release the news and then continue with the halt for another half hour or even a whole one and then resume trading.

I see nothing wrong with that if done late in morning or early in afternoon. Actually I highly recommend it.

As for tendering, that is between you and your brokerage and not affected by trading on exchange. The only affect that could occur is if one tenders too late and the exchange is halted up to the last minutes of 4 pm tomorrow when the offer terminates and the brokerage is not able to enter the transfer.

Jmho.
