They identify cases, then look for groups they can link with, and yes then they will send out all sort of information about how bad the mining industry is. They post case studies etc, historically there are lots to choose from, and yes they are pretty powerful.

How do you deal with this, first and foremost you have to be ahead of the curve, yes you have to connect with the local people, get them involved, give them ovnership etc, not just lip service.

Get on board with the local governments, and yes educate yourself about a range of potential environmental and social issues.
