good evening my friends: I view all involvement, human, nature, and time, as effecting various species, adversely for some, positive for others. The world is, and has always been in a constant change. Climatic cycles, ocean levels, basic Earth activities, even remnents of Celestial bodies, all have had a hand in evolving some species and eliminating others. Our cities, housing tracts , industrial developments have made many huge areas barren wastelands as far as our biological neighbors are concerned.
Unfortunately, until nature or biological evolution redesigns our reproductive instincts, man will continue to increase until a plague, a natural disaster, or he himself, eliminates vast numbers and controls those that are left, with, shall we say, controlled, selective breeding? This obviously means that as Man evolves, many so called lesser species will pay his account.
I completely agree , we must attempt to keep our impact as low as is practical. However, We will never have any human activity that is biologically harmless. But there comes a time when what must be done for the good of the dominent species, over rides the needs of the lesser ones. To me the mere intrusion of man into the wetlands, for example, is a nightmare. Yet I fully realize that it must, and will be done.
As many know, I am an explorer. I have been doing this for over 60 years and I personally have seen the unbelievable and accelerating changes in our world. Areas that were once considered inaccesable can now be accessed in just a matter of a few hrs in complete comfort.
I have found the legendary lost Jesit mine "Tayopa" now own it. It is in a fabulously beautiful mineral zone, but due to the terrain I control the access route. As much as I would like to see it opened and developed, I hate the thought of what would come with it. I love the primitive beauty of this zone and will be buried on the point where I can continue to over look it.
The ROF 'will' be opened ! We all will bear part of the guilt of the unavoidable change in the area, but also the pride of it not being destroyed. This is where You come in Pymmer, ease our conscious and make life easier for the other species in there.
