I wouldn't over analyse the price movement right now. All that's happening is normal tax management. The stocks which are out of the money get sold before the end of the year to offset capital gains. Those stocks in the money see some selling at the start of the year. This allows you approximately 15 months before you actually owe taxes on the gains. Understanding this, I wouldn't expect a block buster news release until at least the middle of January.
