"The next strategic takeover target"

An interesting phrase. The first question would be the word "next", as it suggests that the last one was completed and successful. I think there is going to be a lot of history created in the ROF over the next 3 weeks, and I am not unsure it is not evolving exactly as NOT planned (lots of nots). If Cliffs is successful in their takeover of FWR, and things proceed as has been publicized, there is probably going to be a string of takeover/amalgamations happen in the area. If it is not Successful, then what? Does Cliffs really want this to happen now, and simply up the ante to finish the job, or were they forced into this by the NOT attempt, and would be happy to let it return to the back burner?

It would be relatively easy to forecast events with the knowledge of the voting results on the 25th, but until then it is still a tossup. After that two of the biggest factors will be in the persons of Neil Novak and Mac Watson. If the vote is successful, will Mac ride off into the sunset with his few million, or will he be a continue in the area in some fashion? As regards Neil, he is fast becoming a kingmaker in his position with SPQ. He certainly has no ties to Cliff's, and since parting company with NOT, he likely has no love lost there either. He has strategically moved from the underdog position, to one of envy.

The interesting party to all of this has to be FNC. They are right smack dead centre to all the activity, and although small in size, their location will be strategic in the days to come. Peter is fully aware of this, and sees no reason to spend hard to find dollars to drill something that may or may not be there. With the mineralization that is on both side of him. and getting closer to his boundaries every day, he simply has to wait it out. And the less money he burns in the waiting period, the easier it is to wait. The difficult point of this is that it is virtually impossible to try to play this one. It will meander along at the present value until the time comes for someone to move on it, and the next day it will be triple the SP.
