It turns out that the Native villages may just be puppets in this blockade. It seems that there are a couple of small floatplane airlines, who, a while ago, realised that if they wanted a piece of the pie they should align themselves with the Native bands in the area of the ROF. Thus, Webequie Logistics and the other company from Martin Falls ( I can't remember the name for some reason) were born. These two airlines, who shall remain nameless because I don't want to get sued, want all the pie. They created these logistics companies to control ALL the comings and goings of freight to the ROF. From start to finish, not just the flying. They're not big enough airlines to do all the work required so need to be in bed with someone (or some people) who can protect them. The stuff they can't fly on their own, be it too big or too much, still needs to go through them ( or so they thought), like a freight forwarding company. Thus they still get their piece of the pie.

Recently, there was a 7500 drum fuel haul contract that was put out for tender. A company from Yellowknife won the bid and was about to come down to Nakina to fly these drums into the ice strip at Mcfauds lake. When Webequie logistics and Martin Falls and these other two little airlines were bypassed, they got upset and magically, people were flown in to protest.

It is my belief that there is a voice behind that of the Chiefs and that voice is not Native. But greed comes in all colours I guess.
