"Mining will not start on parts of the ore body, it is just not economic. Mining will only be considered when enough ore if found for long term sustained mining. For that they need at least 50 to 100 million tonnes of nickel ore."
And why would this be??? Why would you leave an ore body with 5+ % nickel in the ground just because a major won't come in and buy it out to mine because there isn't 50 million tons???
Who says you can't make money by direct shipping Eagle 1A to the smelter in Timmins over an ice road??? Mr. Nemis had the beginnings of exactly that plan in place before he was booted out by our current BOD...
If you were running Noront and had run out of cash for exploring and nobody was courting you to give the shareholders what they want for their shares, are you just going to fold up your company and walk away from Eagle 1??? Even if there is PROFIT by blasting it out of the ground and shipping it to the smelter??? If this was MY company, I would not allow my company to go bankrupt just because I can't find 50+ million tons to sell off, I'm going to consider doing a "ma & pops" style of mining and take Eagle 1A out within 7 years just like in the feasiblilty study. I'm not going to let this property go just because nobody will pay a fair price for it!!!
Will we find 50 million tons??? Stay tuned. We will find out eventually (like in the next 5 years, I hope). Will we make any kind of ROI if we don't??? If we don't, I can name approx. 7 - 10 people who are running Noront and sitting on a BOD who should be put in jail if this turns out to be the case, and no HBO and steak for them either... Hard Labour would be much more appropriate, in my opinion.
To say that we aren't worth anything is misleading, in my opinion. I am a bit unhappy with Wes' comment that he wouldn't "start" the permitting/mining process until he knows exactly what he has... I think a conservative approach to getting Eagle 1A out of the ground within 7 years starting with the permitting process around June of 2010 may just be the gentle nudge to get the ball rolling. Now, mix this with how much Wes knows, which I can only hope and pray is much more than we do and that he is keeping things under wraps so he can prove up a lot more of this nickel stuff before we do actually go up for auction would be a good thing... It just stinks that we don't really KNOW why we are being fed all this crappy info right now... And, this company really hasn't done a lot to instill my confidence to date, either. Hard to trust someone who you know has more greed than several 3rd world countries (some members of our BOD, MAYBE???).
Only time will tell. And I just pray that I am not dead and buried before time is up and this finally plays out...
That's all.
God Bless all Noront Shareholders.
