Thanks for this heads up BB.

It is encouraging to see that the Gov't is starting to pay some attention to the vast area of the province that lies north of the 401.

Unfortunatly the revised mining act seems to be more of a deterent to mineral exploration than an assist. I have spoken to several company executives recently and they are all disappointed with what is seen as more roadblocks.

Just this morning I read that mining accounts for $40B to Canada's GDP. Unfortunately the gov't of Ontario has preferred to focus economic development in Southern Ontario at the expense of the North.

When you consider that 90% of the land mass of Ontario Lies North of Barrie, one has to shake your head at just how short sighted Queens Park has been.

There have been several benefits to this latest recession not the least of which is that the Gov't MAY have woken up to the fact that they have been generally ignoring the mineral wealth of the province.

But lets not get ahead of ourselves just yet. I'm sure those southern ridings will still be of the opinion that they can actually compete for manufacturing jobs with China and India. Good luck with that!!!
