Great article but.....
People automatically think Thunder Bay because Cliffs wants to ship via the great lakes.
There is a very good chance that Xstrata will take out the entire ring, Cliffs included, and will want to set up operatons in Sudbury where they already have a smelter, trained people, infrastructure, a deep water harbour called Fisher Harbour at Manitoulin and a vast array of mining supply companies. Don't forget Xstrata is one of the largest producers of ferrochrome. They have the expertise and the markets. Cliffs is a much smaller company.
""The key is that everything now is still speculative, he continues. It will be years down the road before the action heats up. And who knows what the world economy and demand for raw materials will be like then. "This doesn't happen overnight," says Hoy. "The railway will take some time. The mine itself needs to be built, a smelter. In order to build, it'll take a lot of money and time."
In the meantime a lot more exploration work will be done and a great deal of minerealization will be found. They have only scratched the surface (pardon the pun).
This is an investors dream come true. Investors who keep close tabs on the exploration work and the companies involved will have the opportunity to enjoy great returns for the foreseable future.
We are lucky enough to be in on the ground floor. There is still a lot of cash sitting on the sidelines that will be coming back into the market once investors believe the economy is recovering. With the RoF hitting the headlines lately , people are becomming aware of this opportunity and will be interested in investing here. This will boost the sp's of all juniors in the ring.
The ring is set to explode. The next major announcement will send all RoF players higher. This could happen as early as next week when Tribute starts announcing their recent drill results.
We could be looking at a new King of the Ring.
