At some point every Gov't with a troubled financial situation will raise taxes on the money makers.... Canada too. When push comes to shove it'll get done. The companies will cry and fight it and threaten, but in the end as everyone is taxing to the hilt, there will be no place to hide..... so you either close up shop or keep going and buy only 2 lambourginis this year instead of 3. If you close up shop because operating is not economical, at some point the shortages in product will raise the price and then operations will start again. The trick for gov't is not to milk the cow to the extent that it implodes. If Australia is playing shrewdly, they'll threaten 40% and then settle for 15% initially. Make them feel like they won something back.
