I agree with you , Sum. Such a frightening plummet should not be possible, but it happened. I believe the errant trade was made by a broker at Citibank.

There will be a big time investigation to assure us all that this will not happen again. Unless they ban huge global high frequency trading etc. it may easily happen again, when the cascading effect of computer trades just can't be stopped.

Let's just pray that the European sovereign debt mess doesn't spread like wildfire.

The vote in Germany tomorrow is very big.
