Curt & Fantomas, you two gave us some decent food for thought, I summarize in my fashion:

Regarding today's news and recent events, or non events, boils down to two things in my opinion.
Who initiated the termination of the JV with Probe? I do not think in the least that the realization came to both at the same time.

If it was Probe then there must be an incentive for them to consolidate the chromite in the general vicinity. That incentive is most likely a discussion with the likes of Cliffs who may have said that we are interested but only in chromite with no strings ( nickel or JV) attached.

However if it was Noront then it was already said that the main interest is in the nickel deposits. They would initiate action now because they have done some additinal drilling recently with the aid of more extensive geological knowledge of the area. What if they did see something in that knowledge base or drill results ( pre assay or from ) that was not yet revealed to the public until they tied up some of the loose strings.

I suspect that they know something about the immediate region of Eagle's Nest and have purposely held back information so that they could aquire 100% ownership of the area at least cost. Having now done so they are free to drop the other shoe.

I also suspect some profound news by as early as this week's end.
