I'm not a tax accountant..and i dont know if you can reverse the in-kind transfer... but i understand if you have a big loss on these then you may want to sell the shares instead of transfer and then transfer the proceeds to the TFSA... if you wait the 30? or 60? day period to get back in then you should be able to claim the loss...
