Babjak,

I agree that logic will eventually prevail but it will take a concerted push by First Nations to back the government into a corner, thereby reopening the north for development with reduced hassles.

The entrenched mandarins of the previously forementioned Ministries see much of this development as detrimental to their power bases and therefore not in their personal best interest.
