All I can tell you is that Lisa Laco from CBC Radio One, Thunder Bay reported the story on the 7:30 CST news yesterday morning. She interviewed some gentleman that I think was from KWG who said it was costing them $50,000.00 more to bring in fuel because they have to rent helicopters. He said bringing in a few drums of fuel in float planes as compared to using the landing strip was very expensive.
At the end of the interview she said "Noront use to have control of the strip, gave it up and now wants it back". She did not explain it any better then that. She also did not say the landing strip at McFaulds Lake, she simply said the landing strip in the ROF.
I am aware of earlier problems with permitting from the MNR but she said the MOE had closed it. No dates, reasons or anymore information was given.
It all sounded strange to me and I am only passing on what I heard on the radio.
