Message: Re: Minister Gravelle Updates Mining and Ring of Fire.

I was asking if the Liberals lost the election, would the project be able to continue unhindered. A different government may still decide to drop evtra support but the coordinator for the project will still be arrangining the non-duplication of efforts and working to have government participation.

Good Morning Mr.xxxxx

Thank you for your email regarding the Ring of Fire coordinator position. This position was not “appointed” by the government. Rather, in the interest of continuity and neutrality the position is a civil-service position. The Deputy Minister of MNDMF, David O’Toole, ran an open competition in accordance with the hiring policies and practices of the Ontario Public Service and Ms. Kaszycki was the successful candidate. Ms. Kaszycki and her staff will continue to work closely with northern and Aboriginal communities, mineral sector and other provincial and federal ministries to facilitate successful development of the ring of fire economic opportunities for Ontario.

Once again thank you for writing and please accept my best wishes.

Amanda Mizerski
