Hampton has a short memory. It was him and the Ontario NDP government in 1991 under Bob Rae that cancelled the Hydro deal that Ontario had made with Manitoba. This hydro from the Conowapa project would have been delivered via transmission lines that passed through much of the NAN Territory. It costs millions to cancel it.

NAN at the time was not in support of the proposed routes but likely would have been if the right negotiations had been undertaken. One can only dream about what that project would have meant today.
