Budgets are the key and during the few Mulroney years our debt was trippled to the extent that we are still paying for that, and probably the next generation, hence many of us do not have family doctors and can't have decent or timely health coverage as example.

Harper is telling us that he is for the economy but ties us up with that of the US and spends our tax dollars so that we feel good today and forget that the bill keeps adding up in the form of an unmanagable debt.

Martin left 35 billion $ surpluses ( a bad guy for sure) while Harper gives us now 57 billion deficits, about 90 billion turn around ( that is good?) . If we continue on that path mining among other aspects of our economy will be that of a colony, slaves in our own country to feed the wants of others.

Layton on the other hand is promising us everything but the kitchen sink but little about how he is going to pay for it, and the question remains, will he deliver afterwards.
