Plenty of discussion here regarding KWG, and the thought of a merger between NOT/KWG. The biggest reason for the debate, I suppose is that Smeenk mentioned it in his statements, but realistically, why would NOT even consider the idea?
What would NOT gain from it? At today's valuations, NOT would have to dilute itself by another 65% to gain what? It would not be in a position to control the end game for the chrome that KWG has, and if the final decision is to go with a road rather than rail, KWG could feasably be left right out in the cold. Also NOT does not need more chrome. It knows where all they need is, right on their own property.
Their underground mining plan calls for a shaft/ ramp near Eagle1. They drilled a single hole into AT1 and found lots of chrome. It will be a relatively easy task going forward, to prove up a sizeable chrome body that is closer even than the blackbirds, and can be mined with minimal additional cost once infrastructure is in place for the eagle1 orebody.
So I repeat the question, Why would Noront want to acquire KWG?
