They are a broken race of people. You have to look beyond what you see as 'them'. There are rumbles in many quarters about the importance of self sufficiency for these peoples. Some of their leaders believe and have influence in this direction.
I know I spent a lot of time nursing in the homes in some Indian Reservations. It was hard to see a whole package of bacon dropped into a pan on high heat. Hard to try to get in on snow covered roads that had been poorly plowed by 'them'. Hard to deal with the diabetes and health abuse and waste of a human soul.
I was accepted and taken care of in many ways, as it was also dangerous. It is so much more than I can understand. It will take a long, long time.
